STUDIO GOLD&NEW
Studio Gold & New is focused on property transformations and Interior Design personalisation with a contemporary and elegant touch. Being clear and transparent is how we like to work and we set ourselves apart from other designers with the level of involvement in executing the design plan. Where designers rely on their builders to project manage the projects and make decisions during that process (that could be more costly then necessary), we deal with every tradesperson individually and only require a builder when they are needed. This gives us and the client more control over the project and we don't pay double on trade fees.
Naturally we would love to assist our clients with their new build interior projects but we pride ourselves in working on 'Old' existing homes and make them 'Gold & New' again. This can be to suit our clients interior needs and wishes or to maximise potential in the property for sale. We are in a unique position where we have a solid foundation and experience in both Interior Design and Real Estate and are happy to share our knowledge with you in your Journey to sell or rent your property. We are the first business to offer this service and are all about maximising your investment whether you are selling right now or will enjoy living in it for a few more years.
We are dedicated to creating spaces that are both functional and beautiful, tailored to the unique needs and preferences of our clients. We listen to you and what you need. We are committed to delivering exceptional design solutions that transform houses into dream homes.
Whether you are looking to enjoy your home for years to come or maximise its investment potential for sale, we bring a unique perspective that combines European Design sensibility with practical New Zealand Living.

We can't wait to hear from you and hear about your exciting project to start your Journey with us!

LEAD DESIGNER
SUSANNE HESSING
Founder of Studio Gold and New
BIOGRAPHY
Susanne Hessing was born and raised in the Netherlands and started her studies in 2003 studying Communications, Advertising and Graphic Design at 'Nimeto' in Utrecht. After graduating she studied Interior Design at Jan Des Bouvrie Academy, Saxxion Hogeschool in Deventer after which she was accepted into the 2nd year of Interior Architecture at Artez, Kunst Akedemie (University of the Arts) in Zwolle to complete her Bachelor Degree and become a formally qualified Interior Architect in the Netherlands. Part of Susanne's work experience in Interior Architecture was working on some Architecture Projects at the Victoria University in Wellington in 2012. This included research into Winery architecture and research for her thesis on Japanese 'Wabi Sabi' in Architecture and Design. In 2013 she also worked on some architectural draft plans for new build homes as part of the rebuild of Christchurch after the 2011 earthquake.

However, as life sometimes takes unexpected turns, Susanne rolled into real estate in wellington where she found a different creative outlet. Unlike a typical creative, Susanne enjoys structure, customer service and working in a clear and processed way, which is key in Real Estate. Later on in her Real Estate career she started her own Property Management business from 2018 until 2024 in Auckland. This allowed her to be more creative, working on making properties attractive to future residents and connecting back with her studies in Graphic Design.
Today Susanne enjoys her creativity by being back in the Interior Design Industry. With the added experience in Real Estate, this allows her to provide her clients with:
• Excellent customer service
• Long standing connections in the trades industry
• Understanding investment properties and their budgets
• Offering Home transformation and renovations services preparing for sale
• Creative ability to solve any interior situation
• Offering different level of services depending on clients needs

Susanne enjoys a challenge, working with existing homes and making them suit their residents and show it's full potential. Anyone can make a new build home fantastic but it is a different skill to change an existing property to the clients wishes and go beyond the properties expectation!
